Fridays look real good, both from reserving the hall in advance and from a cost point of view. The Friday rates are $60/2 hours. We could get the Fridays we want, the only problem is if they have an occasional, special event on Saturday, they may need to set up on Friday. Saturdays are more difficult to book and cost more, probably in the $350 range for the night. Hella gets her schedule together in October for the year, and offers her big returning customers the choice of dates. The ballroom people are already scheduled through 2005, they choose random Saturday nights (many of them are the third Saturdays) based on football games, etc. To just rent the hall once is about $600. Hella also wants to get her janitor out of the hall at a reasonable hour after the dance, we either need to be sure and finish the dance a 11:00 PM or maybe switch to 10:30 PM. They also have a sign in procedure for everybody at each dance, so that we need to keep records of attendees. Hella is pleasant to work with and is interested in having us at the hall, particularly since we have such a wide range of ages attending the dance. She suggested charging the seniors $3 instead of $7. By booking the Senior Center, we also get coverage in the biweekly activities pullout in the Democrat and in other printed material. So Mary, what do you think ? Do you want to send this onto Bruce and other board members? -----Original Message----- From: Mary Allgire [mailto:marylou83@juno.com] Sent: Monday, June 14, 2004 2:23 PM To: Hand, Joe Subject: Dance locations Happy Monday!
