Ode to my dance partner

We enjoy contra dance, square dance, round dance, and waltz.
We love the rhythm, music, movement, and each other's touch.
Both partners wish for the other the same 
enjoyment of dance that they feel.

Sometimes I lead, sometimes she leads.
Whoever leads, both follow.
And the following is easy, 
because the leading is clear.

Although we do strive to follow each other,
We never let concern about correct dancing
get in the way of enjoying the dance.

There are no wrong dance steps because 
the dance is simply excuse to be together.
The response to the other's mistep is
simple a admiring smile of gratitude 
for the other's presense.
