"The Constitution of the United States says that the federal government has only those powers specifically granted to it by the Constitution -- and that all other powers belong either to the states or to the people themselves. That is the foundation of our freedom, and that is what is being dismantled by both this year's [ObummerDoesn'tCare] decision and last year's [ObummerDoesn'tCare] decision, as well as by the supreme court's decision imposing a redefinition of marriage. Last year's supreme court decision declaring [ObummerDoesn'tCare] constitutional says that the federal government can order individual citizens to buy the kind of insurance the government wants them to buy, regardless of what the citizens themselves prefer. The Constitution gave the federal government no such power, but the supreme court [asserted it]... This year's [ObummerDoesn'tCare] decision likewise ignored the actual words of the law and decided that the decisions of 34 states not to participate in [ObummerDoesn'tCare] exchanges, even to get federal subsidies, would not prevent those federal subsidies to be paid anyway, to exchanges set up by the federal government itself. When any branch of government can exercise powers not authorized by either statutes or the Constitution, 'we the people' are no longer free citizens but subjects, and our 'public servants' are really our public masters. And America is no longer America. The freedom for which whole generations of Americans have fought and died is gradually but increasingly being taken away from us with smooth and slippery words [i.e. initiated fraud]. This decision makes next year's choice of the next president of the United States more crucial than ever, because with that office goes the power to nominate justices of the supreme court. Democrats have consistently nominated people who shared their social vision and imposed their policy preferences, too often in disregard of the Constitution. Republicans have complained about it [but not exercised their power to block admitted oath-breakers and other anti-constitution judicial appointments], but when the power of judicial appointment was in the hands of Republican presidents, they have too often appointed justices who participated in the dismantling of the Constitution -- and usually for the kinds of social policies preferred by Democrats. Chief-justices appointed by Republican presidents have made landmark decisions for which there was neither constitutional authority nor either evidence or logic. The first was Earl Warren. When chief-justice Warren said that 'separate educational facilities are inherently unequal', he was within walking distance of an all-black public high school that sent a higher percentage of its graduates on to college than any white public high school in Washington. As far back as 1899, that school's students scored higher on tests than two of the city's 3 white academic public high schools. Nevertheless, chief-justice Warren's unsubstantiated assumption led to years of school busing across the country that was as racially divisive as it was educationally futile. Chief-justice Warren Burger, also appointed by a Republican president, [flatly contradicted the clear wording, intent, and common law of the 2nd amendment and] gave us the 'disparate impact' notion that statistical disparities imply discrimination. That notion has created a whole statistical shake-down racket, practiced by government itself and by private race hustlers alike..."

"Nelson, the Orlando Democrat, said [after decades of receiving messages from displaced US citizen STEM professional constituents like jgo, Michael Emmons at Siemens in Lake Mary, hundreds of 'IT' workers from Nielsen in Tampa, Convergys (formerly Cincinnati Bell Information Systems) which had several contracts with the state government and off-shored the work to India... that he thinks maybe] the H-1B visa program is being used by American companies to displace American workers, some of whom are even being made to train their foreign replacements... Nelson read from the law, which requires foreign workers who receive the visas to have 'theoretical and practical application of a body of highly specialized knowledge' [but not an especially high level of knowledge or skills]. He said regulations enacted to implement the law greatly expanded the definition to allow workers to fill jobs despite available American candidates. Nelson wrote to Homeland Security earlier in June citing concerns after reports that companies, including Disney, were laying off American workers and replacing them with employees brought in from India by an out-sourcing company [in this case India-based firms with both cross-border bodyshopping and off-shoring operations]. In response to Nelson's intervention, he received letters from employees of Catalina Marketing in St. Petersburg, who said they, too, were being replaced by foreign workers, he said. In one case, an information technology worker was being made to train the replacement worker, Nelson said. Because of privacy laws, Nelson's office declined to release the letters. Well, yes, declining fertility is a reasonable response to being over-crowded amidst over-population. The most extreme elements of Ehrlich's scare-story did not come true, nor is the warmist hysteria true, but the over-population and over-crowding, and their negative effects, continue. If over-population by over-breeding is decreasing in Europe and holding steady in draconian Red China, Europe has been being flooded from Turkey, the Middle East and Africa since at least the 1960s.

In 1868, a Creole farmer in Cuba began a revolt. Cubans drafted the 1868 '10th of October Manifesto': 'Rebelling against Spanish tyranny, we want to indicate to the world the reasons... Spain governs us with iron and blood; it imposes...taxes at will; it deprives us of all political, civil and religious freedom; it has put us under military watch in days of peace, arresting exiling and executing without being subject to any proceedings... it prohibits that we freely assemble...'... In 1878, the Spanish government crushed the revolt and ended 'The Ten Years War' in which thousands were killed. Under international pressure, Spain ended slavery by royal decree in 1886.
