In any case, Mr. Clooney makes a valid point even if he is not quite up front about it. His message seems to be the following: he is deeply touched by this humanitarian crisis, and he wants to help but does not necessarily want his life disrupted. His answer is to raise funds in order to ease the plight of these refugees while keeping his own door closed. Who can blame him for that? Actually, isn't that what many Americans are advocating as well? They, too, want to help these refugees abroad and have not questioned the USA humanitarian aid to the Syrian crisis: $4.5G already spent and another $900M pledged. They just want, like Clooney, their homes (and neighborhoods and country) protected. Except that Clooney is hailed a humanitarian hero, while they are booed as racists."

"There is an unquestioned disconnect between the vast majority of the American people and the so-called 'elites' or 'ruling class'... Innumerable polls taken over the past 7 years are consistent in showing nearly 7 in 10 Americans believing the nation is headed in the wrong direction. Further, nearly 60% think that the next generation will be worse off than they are. And few have any faith that the economic outlook for the country will improve in the near or distant future. Beginning in the late 1980s, the cognoscenti declared that expansive government spending, globalization and free trade [with massive transfer of knowledge, intellectual property, and technology -- including items essential to our national security -- to places such as India, Red China, & VietNam], combined with a comprehensive and overarching regulatory regime determined to root out so-called corruption and inequality as well as save the planet from the over-blown evils of global warming, would be the course the nation should pursue. The result of this foolhardy and myopic scheme: In 1988 the national [government] debt of the USA stood at $2.6T, today it is over $19.0T -- an increase of 635% (and projected to reach $29.0T by 2026). On the other hand the debt of all the nations on earth has grown by only 135% since 1988. Since November of 2008 the working age population has increased by over 18M. However, the number of those employed has increased just 5.5M. Meanwhile those unemployed or no longer in the work force has ballooned by 12.4M to a staggering total of 102M or 40.4% of the working age population. Another factor impacting on the economic health of the American people is immigration. In 1988 there were 16M immigrants (including less than [3M] illegal aliens) living in the United States. Today that number has sky-rocketed to 42.4M (including an estimated [10M-15M] illegal aliens). This enormous increase (165%) in the immigrant population has not only put pressure on a stagnant job market but it has also been a major factor in the decline of median income in the country. The upshot of all the above is that since 1988 the income of the top 5% has risen 39.3% (adjusted for inflation) and the income of the bottom 50% has fallen by 1.9%. Since 2008 the [Obummer] cabal has added over 18K pages to the Code of Federal Regulations. It is estimated that complying with federal regulations costs the economy nearly $2T per year and is, along with taxes and innumerable mandates, one of the principle reasons for the lack of new business start-ups and loss of jobs to other countries. One of the primary hallmarks of the United States had been that of a classless society wherein economic factors allowed the citizenry to take advantage of the marketplace in order to move up or down based on their efforts and willingness to work. However, this scenario is disappearing as the opportunities for upward mobility cease to exist... the nation's 'elites', rather than view education as the means for the people to attain success in a competitive world, have recast it into a vehicle for their pet theories and political views..."

That project broke ground in 2010, is $1G over budget and over 5 times its original estimate, is at least 2 years behind schedule, and has been riddled with contract corruption and fraud... I propose they be housed at the presidential retreat of Camp David -- and that amnesty advocate Mark Zuckerberg and all the Gang of Eight lobbyists and corporate sponsors on the left and right foot the bill. The commander in chief's vacation spot in the Catoctin Mountain Park is secure. It contains 200 acres of land on which to build temporary [Obummerville] shelters for all the surgers. And any over-flow should be handled by pitching tents on the White House lawn..."

Donald Trump has been talking a much better game on immigration since last summer... but we cannot fully trust him on it, and even less on other issues. Ted Cruz is better on a wide range of other issues, but he's been holding back from a fully forthright and consistent and effective position on the nexus of fencing/walling the border, border defence, elimination of visa waiver programs, reasonable limits on visas (visitor, exchange, student, guest-work, green cards/LPRs), proper background investigations of visa applicants. Marco Rubio & Yebbie Boosh & John Kasich & Chris Christie have proven repeatedly that they certainly cannot be trusted on anything pertaining to this nexus of issues. We were willing to give Walker a chance, but he backed out. We were willing to give Santorum a chance, but he backed out and supports a bad alternative. We were willing to give Ben Carson a chance, but he keeps backing away from saying anything whole-hearted and consistent that is believable. Still, Rubio is kind of not quite so rotten on a couple other issue areas, but not good enough to make up for this. Yebbie is similar, though so weak or bad on so many issues the negatives outweigh any good. Christie and Kasich are not trustworthy at all. All of the leftists, including Clinton, Sanders, Bloomberg, are vile, untrustworthy, harmful, likely oath-breakers (though Sanders did have a very narrow guest-work reform proposal once).
